Forged Rolls

Cluster  Rolls / Sendzimir or Sundwig /

Ravne Rolls produce all kinds of rolls for cold mill Z Hi,2 Hi, 4 Hi, 6Hi, 12 Hi and 20 Hi

Production:

  • Work rolls (WR) from steel KOLD-12, KOLD-8, KOLD-8A, KOLD-M1, KOLD-MZ, KOLD-M3, KOLD-M4, KOLD-M5, KOLD-M7, KOLD-PM2, KOLD-PM3, KOLD-PM6
  • 1st Intermediate rolls (1.IMR) from steel KOLD-12, KOLD-T2, KOLD-T5, KOLD-T8
  • 2nd Intermediate rolls (2.|~\R) from steel KOLD-12, KOLD-T2, KOLD-T5, KOLD-T8

Steel grade is divided into three qualities:

  • Tool steel: KOLD-12, KOLD-T2, KOLD-T5, KOLD-T8
  • High speed steel: KOLD-M1, KOLD-MZ, KOLD-M3, KOLD-M4, KOLD-M5, KOLD-M7
  • PM steel: KOLD-PM2, KOLD-PM3, KOLD-PM6

The Tool steel and HSS are conventional type vacuum degassed steels that are also available for further refinement by ESR (Electro Slag Remelting). The PM (powder metallurgical) steel is produced by utilizing powder metallurgy technology which allows the design of high alloyed grades without uncontrolled growth of carbides. The WR in service exposure to mechanical and thermal stresses, various types of wear and local high pressure points put high demands on roll properties. For each application, the best compromise between resistance to indentations, abrasive wear and fatigue as well as sufficient toughness must be found. Through combining chemical composition, steel elaboration and heat treatment parameters, suitable roll properties can be reached.

IMR and Side support rolls (SSR)

Abrasive and corrosive wear accentuated by the longer trips, high pressure points, thermal and mechanical stresses put more emphasis on toughness and resistance to work hardening.

Cluster mill rolls are through-hardening rolls: 1st – max. hardening – subcooling temperature 1250°C, 2nd – oil pool or an air cooling system, 3rd – levelling system 4th – washing machine and 5th – tempering to max. 65O°C.

Cluster Strip Mill Rolls

Kolding – Ravne Rolls produce narrow strip mill rolls for 2-Hi, 4-Hi, 6-Hi and other mill configurations for rolling of strip and wire, made from carbon steels, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, super alloys and precious metals. Through the long experience and wide portfolio of roll grades, RR can provide customized rolls for various customer needs.

Production:

  • Work rolls (WR) from steel KOLD-2, KOLD-ZA, KOLD-3, KOLD-3A, KOLD-4, KOLD-5, KOLD-TZ, KOLD-T5 (ESR)
  • Intermediate rolls (IMR) from steel KOLD-2, KOLD-3, KOLD-3A, KOLD-4, KOLD-5, KOLD-T5 (ESR)
  • Back-up rolls (BUR) from steel KOLD-3, KOLD-3A, KOLD-5, KOLD-T5 (ESR)

Steel grade is divided into two qualities:
– Tool steel: KOLD-T2, KOLD-T5
– Medium alloy steel: KOLD-2, KOLD-ZA, KOLD-3, KOLD-3A, KOLD-4, KOLD-5

Narrow strip from HSS and PM steel will probably be produced in the future.
The tool steel: Good wear and thermal shock resistance.
Medium alloy steel: For mills with general standards and demands. Selection of grade depends on the requested depth of hardness, wear resistance and roughness retention.
Strip mill rolls are surface hardening rolls: 1st – induction hardening to max. 1100 °C, 2nd – Sub-zero treatment to min. -160°C, 3rd – tempering to max. 650°C.

Depth of hardness to steel grade

Aluminium Mill Rolls

Ravne Rolls has a long experience in the manufacture of WR, IMR and BUR in a wide range of grades for rolling of Aluminium on:

  • Hot 2-Hi and 4-Hi roughing, reversing and finishing mills
  • Cold 2-Hi, 4-Hi and 6-Hi breakdown, intermediate and finishing mills
  • Foil 4-Hi mills.

Production:

  • WR from steel KOLD-ZA, KOLD-3, KOLD-3A/ (ESR) Cold and foil mills /
  • WR from steel KOLD-T5 / (ESR) Hot mills
  • IMR from steel KOLD-ZA, KOLD-3, KOLD-3A and KOLD-5 / (ESR) Cold and foil mills
  • BUR from steel KOLD-3, KOLD-3A and KOLD-5 / (ESR) Cold and foil mills /
  • BUR from steel KOLD-T2 and KOLD-T5 / (ESR) Hot mills.

Steel grade is divided into two qualities:
– Tool steel: KOLD-T2, KOLD-T5
– Medium alloy steel: KOLD-ZA, KOLD-3, KOLD-3A, KOLD-5

HSS and SEMI HSS steel will probably be produced in the future.
The Tool steel: Good wear and thermal shock resistance.
Medium alloy steel: For mills with general standards and demands.
Selection of grade depends on the requested depth of hardness, wear resistance and roughness retention.

Aluminium mill rolls are surface hardening rolls: 1st – induction hardening to max. 1100°C
2nd – Sub-zero treatment to min. -16O°C and 3rd – tempering to max. 650°C.

Forming Rolls

Kolding – Ravne Rolls offer a dimensionally accurate range of Profile Forming Rolls that are durable in nature and are sturdy in construction. We manufacture the entire product range using quality assured raw components and the latest technologies. We deliver them in varied dimensions and thickness and they are valued with customized solutions.

We use the Tool steel KOLD-12, except for the Medium alloy steel KOLD-2, depending on the kind of hardening and the form of roll.

Features: Accurate dimensions, efficient working, longer service life.

Straightening Rolls

Roll-type straightening units and systems, their components and the results that can be achieved using them are increasingly moving to the center stage in the production and
processing of wire-shaped process materials.

We use the low alloy steel KOLD-1, KOLD-1A and KOLD-1B, except for the medium alloy steel KOLD-3, KOLD-5, depending on the type of straightening roll.

Features: Easy to maintain, rust proof, top quality.
