Through Hardened Rolls
The company Kolding produces through hardened rolls in the dimensional range from 10 mm to 350 mm in diameter, with a max. lenght of 3500 mm and weight up to 2500 kg.In order to produce high quality rolls, suitable steel qualities and heat treatment operations must be selected.
Rolls are hardened across the full diameter to the hardness which corresponds to roll type and purpose.
Rolls are made of high alloyed chrome-molybdenum steel with a range of grades going from 5% chrome to high speed steel and ASP powder metallurgical high speed steels.
Ravne Rolls are remelted by the ESR process which ensures a high purity of the steel andupgrades the mechanical properties.
Forging is carried out by rotary forging machine providing us with uniformly forgedrolls.
Heat treatment is performed in vertical furnaces which is digitally controlled with a central computer or in vacuum furnaces.
Grinding is performed on CNC grinding maschines.
